The opinions expressed about Isaan on this blog are just as diverse as in Thailand itself. I have no problem admitting I'm an Isaan fan. Years ago I was already struck by the quiet, rural and traditional character of the region. My wife is an Isan with Khmer roots and we live next to the Mun which forms the border between Buriram and Surin.
