Since I have been living near the city of Roi-Et (for the past 5 months) and my stock of medicines (brought from the Netherlands) will soon run out, I request that Peterdongsing provide the contact details (name, address, etc.) of the pharmacy in question or those contact details to my email address.

Phra Maha Chedi Chai Mongkhon in Roi Et province is an architecturally impressive structure. Buddha relics are kept in the middle pagoda. An amount of three billion Baht has been raised for the construction of this immense structure. It is located in a wooded area, where pheasants, peacocks, deer, tigers and elephants live in the wild.

Some time ago, when I was looking for monumental Khmer relics in the vicinity of my home in Satuek, I stumbled upon Wat Ku Phra Kona in the south of the province of Roi Et. Coincidence, because this Khmer ruin is missing from just about every self-respecting travel guide. It is, however, one of the northernmost Khmer shrines.

I have been staying in Thailand regularly for about 10 years and have a partner there, whom we will call Nit with Warayut, her “adult” son; they come from a small village in the Isaan, in the province of Roi-Et. The Isaners mostly come from Laos and their spoken language is Lao, and is not a dialect of Thai.
