I find the visa system in Thailand extremely complicated. Thanks to the people who keep explaining it, but I still find it difficult. Now I have met a very nice, sweet, beautiful Thai lady, and have visited her twice this year (in January on a 60 day tourist visa, because I stayed 33 days, and flew on to Australia). And in March (a month later, back from Australia) as a tourist (less than 30 days). So far so good.

As a result of your call in the TB immigration information letter no. 040/23, I am sending you the requirements of Immigration Kantang for a 'Retired' extension. I collected the form at the end of September, and at the beginning of December I am going to extend my stay for one year.

Idiocy at Prachin Buri Immigration Office. For many years I have been going to Prachin Buri Immigration Office to arrange the extension of my stay for one year. I have a Non-immigrant O (retired) visa. In previous years, that was a piece of cake with a visit.

I have been living in Thailand for 3 years now on a marriage visa and extension. Always with the NL visa support letter.. what a word… My pension and AOW have been increased to such an extent since January that I could now retire. But am I also obliged to bring in 65.000 baht to Thailand every month?

I also want to emigrate to Thailand in 1 year, so I am very interested in the information of the visa requirements for a retirement visa. Now I recently saw on the site of the Thai embassy in The Hague that the monthly income or your annual bank deposit has increased considerably (for example, from 65.000 baht to 80.000 baht per month).

An English friend of mine officially divorced his Thai wife two months ago. He has had an O visa based on marriage for several years with 400.000 Thb in the bank. This visa runs until March next year. Today he went to the immigration in Nakhon Sawan to ask what documents he needs to convert his visa to an O-visa based on retirement at the next extension. However, he was told that he was not allowed to be in Thailand now because he was divorced and therefore no longer had a valid visa.

I am staying here on a retirement extension for a long time and cannot prove monthly income. For that reason I use the 800.000 thb scheme that I have had on an account for years. That account can only be in your own name and not an and / or, and I'm starting to have trouble with that, namely if I die it is virtually impossible for third parties to remove this amount from the account.

I have been living permanently in Thailand for 2 years on the basis of a retirement visa O. I have been married to a Thai for a year since January. My question now is, would it be wise to switch to a marriage visa?

I have a good friend in Nong Khai, she has a boyfriend. However, does not have enough money for a retirement visa. She tells me the following that he can get visa in a bar and pay under the table. I have a Non O multiple entry visa, just like last year. Normally I have to do a border run, around May 28, to Myanmar, via Kantanaburi. Is it true that I don't have to do anything until the end of July? Just wait for new regulation from the government, without risking an “overstay” fine?

Questioner: Arie I was in Belgium when Thailand was locked down. On the one hand, a blessing in disguise, I can take care of my old parents here so that they don't have to leave the house. On the other hand, I still pay the monthly rent (which has been adjusted in the meantime), but it ends on August 1. My retirement visa expires at the end of May. Am I now considered an ordinary tourist or is there for …

We (my married Thai wife and I) have been living in Chiang Mai since 1991 and annually went to the Immigration Bureau in good faith for our visas, where we were interviewed together. In 2013 (after 22 years) we were given the option for a Retirement Visa, which we then accepted by placing 800.000 baht in the bank.

I have a non-immigrant retirement visa, so I need to have an amount of 800.000 Baht in my bank when applying for my new visa. Now I want to open an account with this amount in this account, then I have this amount in the bank all year round and I don't have to worry about this account and I want to lock the account, then I get more interest. Is this a problem with Immigration?

It's all unclear anyway. Today I went to Korat to extend my retirement visa and multiple entry.
My visa expires September 27 and I visited 2 months ago for info because I now wanted to use the 800.000 Baht scheme. I was then told 2 months before the time there must be 800.000 Baht on the account and 3 months after and then you can drop to 400.000 Baht.
