Do you know Ketsarin in Hua Hin? That cozy restaurant on Naresdamri Road, on stilts above the Gulf of Thailand? With those tasty dishes? No? Then on 29 June you will have the opportunity to (again) get acquainted with this well-known establishment. The Dutch Hua Hin/Cha Am Association will then organize the last meeting before the summer break.

I have a question for the foodies in Pattaya who also like to eat Thai curries. I'm going there soon and would like some tips for restaurants that serve really good paneng, green curry (keng khio waan), yellow curry (keng kharie) and/or massaman in the Pattaya Tai/Jomtien area.

Already for the 8th time my Dutch friends, C&A, came to Thailand for a stay of 6 weeks. As usual, they stay for a few weeks in my neighbour's bungalow, on the beach of Pathiu, Hat Bo Mao, to relax and enjoy the delicious fish restaurants that this region has to offer.

It was a strange experience not being able to order a Singha beer in a new restaurant that pretends to be of great class. The restaurant (I will not name) was highly recommended to me by a friend. He had dined there with his wife and both had enjoyed the ambiance and excellent service, an ideal setting to romantically celebrate the Thai lady's birthday.

Every other day we drive to the country at the end of the afternoon to water the newly planted plants and enjoy the landscape in the last light of the day. Despite the fact that Nong Noi is a hamlet of a few houses, there is a restaurant of respectable size.

When a Dutch friend came to visit me, I met him in his hotel in Bangkok. He had been there for a few days and told me that he had discovered a nice restaurant on the waterfront. We decide to eat there.

I came home today from Thailand where I have been to Pattaya and Bangkok. I have been there many times now and in Pattaya I went to eat 2 times every day at the Klein Vlaanderen restaurant. Last year I already saw that the restaurant was much smaller (had to do with not renewing the rent) and this year it was closed (at least now it has an Indian restaurant).

Does anyone know the restaurant Loong Riang & Pamalee not far from Pattaya. Got to know it on Eatingthaifood.com and can be found on Youtube. They serve the best Thai jungle food you can find and apparently very spicy.

Does anyone know what happened to the restaurants in Pool Suk road such as OnOn Corner, Moon Smile, NA NA place, etc. and where they went? I have read from friends that the restaurants are gone. If so, I am very sorry they were my favorite eateries for years.

A Thai man visited one of the more than twenty Chokdee Dimsum restaurants in Bangkok with a number of friends and was horrified to find a dead cockroach in his food. When he alerted the waiting staff, he was offered a 10% discount if the rest of the food was eaten.

The famous restaurant that our late national cuddly chef started in Amsterdam has a formidable competitor, who lives up to the name “Le Garage” much more than the capital city establishment. That competitor is, how could it be otherwise, in Thailand, and not just in Thailand, but in Nang Lae, to be precise, on the corner of our street.

For the umpteenth time, that must be 30 times already, I was allowed / had to go to Koh Samui. The reason is true: Belgian friends are there on holiday and a stay of a few days here in the jungle of Lung addie does not appeal to them. Although all accommodation, regarding beach, excellent restaurants, good resorts … are present here, for most of them there is a lack of “action” here.
