The Cabinet has approved a revised fare structure for Bangkok's MRT Blue Line, which will come into effect on July 3. The new fares, proposed by the MRTA, range from 17 to 45 baht per trip, in response to inflation and economic conditions. Journeys up to 9 stations cost 17 baht, while longer journeys can cost up to 45 baht.
The new cabinet has decided to limit the diesel price to 33 baht per liter and keep the price of cooking gas at 423 baht per cylinder. Electricity rates for small consumers will also be reduced. These measures are aimed at relieving consumers and stimulating the economy following the recent rise in oil prices. The government wants to support the industrial sector by accelerating permits for new factories.

Air travelers should take into account increased parking prices at airports, especially with the May and summer holidays approaching. The parking costs for a weekend (+14%, Friday to Sunday) and a week (+8%, Saturday to Saturday) have risen sharply compared to 2019, the last pre-corona year.
