Loy Krathong, when Thailand celebrates love at the dividing line between water and land
The Thai calendar has many highlights, most of which are definitely worth (actively) reflecting on. Well-known are of course the traditional Loy Krathong and the exuberant Songkran, in addition to numerous imported festivities: Christmas, Valentine's Day, Halloween, New Year, Easter... For the tourist and the not-so-seasoned expat, these are all days on which the population is seen at its happiest, namely when there is a party to celebrate. And what's stopping us Westerners from just partying along? Hanging that sour mask on the coat rack for a while and smiling along as if we ourselves once saw the first light of day under the warm Thai sun.

Garden party at our resort
Fortunately, Charly's life is full of pleasant surprises (unfortunately sometimes also less pleasant ones). Until a few years ago, he would never have dared to predict that he would spend the rest of his life in Thailand. However, he has now been living in Thailand for a while and in recent years close to Udonthani. In this episode a small impression of a garden party in our resort.

Grabbed from the Isan life. A sequel (part 5)

Well, The Inquisitor chose this life and is not bored at all. This time stories in non-chronological days, no weekly report, but always just a blog, sometimes current, sometimes from the past.

That is why we are now coming up with a new annual highlight that will be spectacular and will appeal to a wide audience.
It is perhaps the best place in Thailand to ring in the New Year: Khao San Road, the famous backpacker street in the heart of Bangkok. Those who have plans to celebrate there this year can delete this from their agenda.
