Going to Thailand with medicines that fall under the Opium Act?
Just a question: we are going to Thailand on January 30 and have medicines that fall under the opium law. I have an English statement from the GP with signature and stamps from the CAK. Do I still have to visit the Thai embassy for more stamps?
Question to general practitioner Maarten: I take a painkiller that falls under the Opium Act
We travel to Thailand for 3 months in the winter, I now have to take codeine 10 mg three times a day as a painkiller. Since this is under the opium law in the Netherlands. Do I have to bring a statement or is it allowed?
Given the developments surrounding the corona virus, it looks like I will have to stay longer in Thailand for the time being. My extension of stay is no problem. My problem, however, is that I'm running out of meds. Buying in Thailand is possible but many times more expensive than in the Netherlands. Now I want to try to have medicines sent from the Netherlands. There are no medicines that fall under the opium law. No doubt there will be readers of Thailand blog who have experience with this?
Taking medicines with you on a trip to Thailand
You cannot just take narcotics and other medicines to Thailand because possessing them can be punishable. Even if the medicines have been prescribed by your doctor. You may therefore need a statement that you can take with you and show to the authorities.
We leave for Thailand for the first time in 4 weeks. We both have medication and now we heard during the vaccination that certain medication is prohibited in Thailand.
