Retinal surgery in Korat?
I live in Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima) I see with 1 eye blurry and black spots. After a visit to the ophthalmologist at St. Mary's Hospital, I was told that my retina is detaching and I need surgery. This was not possible at St. Mary's and I was referred to the only specialist here in Korat who is in Maharath Hospital. Been there today and I was told by “her” that she does not operate Farang, only Thai because there would be a difference in the eyes of a Farang and a Thai.
I am looking for a good ophthalmologist, in Isaan. I myself live between Pakhat and Bueng kan. It can also be a clinic. Udon Thani was manageable, but Bangkok and Pattaya are too far for me, because I will have to visit the doctor or clinic many times for the treatment of my Macro Degeneration. I hope to find people who have personally experienced this problem and who can give me some information about how the treatment works.
Question to GP Maarten: Bleeding in my right eye
You already have my previous data. First thought on 20-01-2020, only taking medicines from the neurologist and the ophthalmologist for 7 months, but it gets off badly. Told the ophthalmologist that for the past month, I've felt like there's a fly or dirt in my right eye. She watched with her equipment and had to go with the nurse to a room, where she received drops every 10 minutes and that 5 times.
Reader Submission: Need Glasses? First go to the ophthalmologist and claim with your health insurer
A tip for people who need glasses, live in Thailand and are insured with VGZ, with a Universal Complete policy.
A very good optometrist in Amsterdam has just determined that my left eye most likely has a cataract. He refers me to an eye specialist in a hospital for surgery. Since I live in Pattaya, I have to rely on a Thai hospital. Because after such an operation, aftercare is required and then I am no longer in the Netherlands, so I have to have the operation performed in Pattaya or the surrounding area.
Reader question: Who knows a good eye specialist near Pattaya?
Last week I returned to Thailand for 6 months. Since yesterday, however, suddenly a serious problem has arisen in my right eye. In short, all symptoms point to a sudden retinal detachment and I therefore wanted to ask the Thailandblog readers to advise me on eye specialists / treatment centers and / or hospitals, etc. in Pattaya
I wonder if readers have experience with or are familiar with state hospitals or private hospitals or clinics that have eye specialists, preferably in the Rayong area, the latter being less important.
