May I ask what you think about switching from Metformin 1500mg/day to Semaglutide (Ozempic) injection 1/week for the treatment of type 2 diabetes?
Question to GP Maarten: Is my blood sugar too high?
I had my blood sugar checked with the doctor down the road. The result is 116 mg/dl. Normal should be 70-100. This Thai doctor advised me to use Metformin 1 tablet daily after dinner. Is that correct?
Question to general practitioner Maarten: Can I replace my diabetes medicine with a cheaper one?
I am 68 years old, 175 cm, 82 kg. With a dvt where I take Warfarin 5mg per day. A diabetes value of 135 was now established after a month of 127. This was due to the drug jardiance duo 12.5 empagliflozin Metformin hydrochloric. My question, with the current values, can I take another drug that is cheaper? I now pay 1700 baht a month for this one.
I am 38 years old and have had type 2 diabetes for 2 years. I take metformin 850 mg daily (1 in the morning and 1 in the evening). When I discovered my diabetes, my fasting reading was 330 mg/dl. Now I have completely adjusted my diet and eat as few carbohydrates as possible. (+- 1500 calories per day), I still weigh 92 kg for 1.80 meters and would like to lose some kilos.
