I follow the section looking at houses with great interest. I am also about to build a house. I live +/- 30 km outside the city of Khon Kaen. My question is: who knows an English speaking, reliable, honest, not too expensive and skilled architect / builder in Khon Kaen or the surrounding area? Someone who is open to different ideas? I know this is a lot, but surely they will be there?

I already knew the city from a previous visit, only to break up a long train journey for a night in a good bed. A city of many successful people, given the prices and the attitude / appearance. Even now I was only looking for a good bed after two nights of camping on hard ground.

Today it was time to extend my visa again. Normally that was a few hours of work, but today, despite all papers being in order, I received a stamp: 'Under consideration'. I was told that immigration officials will be sent to the village where I live first. Then two random people in the village are asked questions about me. Has anyone ever experienced this?

This summer I will go from Pattaya to Lamai Homestay, Ban Kho Pet, Bua Yai to Nakhon Ratchasima for a few days. According to the owner it is easy from Pattaya with a bus to Khon Kaen and then ask the driver to let me off in SIDA the intersection with road 2 and road 202 between Korat and Khon Kaen.
