Hopewell claim: Ministry goes to court again

It's been dragging on for 21 years: the Hopewell claim. The transport ministry has to pay 25 billion baht to Hong Kong's Hopewell Holdings Company, but is trying to get rid of the claim with a renewed course of action.

Cleaning of the collapsed concrete slab of the Hopewell project must be done with extreme caution due to the proximity of a potentially dangerous gas pipeline, the Engineering Institute of Thailand (EIT) warns. The State Railway of Thailand has enlisted the EIT's assistance in removing the slab and iron scaffolding that collapsed on Thursday.
