Nightlife in Thailand is famous and notorious. Anyone who has traveled around the globe can confirm that almost nowhere in the world can you go out as extensively as in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket. Of course a large part of the entertainment industry revolves around sex, yet there is also plenty to do for tourists who do not come for that. The many bars with live music, excellent restaurants, discotheques, beach parties and shopping centers are good examples of this.

Every now and then when I am in Bangkok I like to pay a visit to my favorite restaurant Ban Kanitha on Soi 23.
In my opinion it is one of the best and nicest restaurants in town. You can enjoy delicious Thai dishes both indoors and outdoors and they also have a reasonable range of wines.

Yes, you read that right, all businesses in Soi Cowboy, one of Bangkok's most famous entertainment centers, are closed. All the lights are out and the girls of fun are nowhere to be seen. The otherwise busy street in the evenings is deserted and desolate.
