Thailand takes steps towards marriage equality with new bill
The Thai government is preparing to reintroduce the marriage equality bill, a revision of the Civil and Commercial Code. After an earlier attempt that failed due to time constraints and a change of government, the government aims to have the proposal, with a focus on gender equality and the abolition of sex trafficking, approved before Valentine's Day.

Thailand is about to make groundbreaking legislative changes. Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has pledged to work for the passage of three revolutionary bills. These include same-sex marriage, the legalization of prostitution and the recognition of gender identity, which would create Thailand's most progressive legal environment in Asia.
