As a former team doctor of well-known Dutch cycling formations such as PDM, Panasonic and Vacansoleil, the world held hardly any secrets for Peter Janssen. Cyclism had taken him to all parts of the world and planted a small but steadily growing seed: one day I will leave the Netherlands and live in a completely different place.

When you live in Thailand, like me, it doesn't make sense that you watch the Dutch television programs that come from the kitchen of the Largest Family of the Netherlands. I would actually rather say that that doesn't even make sense when you do live in the Netherlands, but that aside.

Once you have been to Thailand, you will wonder whether you would like/could live (semi)permanently in the 'Land of Smiles'. Particularly among people who are approaching retirement age, the possibility of exchanging the cold and relatively expensive Netherlands for a long-lasting holiday feeling is on the mind.
