Until yesterday I had a fixed routine, a daily trip to the beach for an hour of swimming. But today everything is different. Yesterday I came face to face with one of the greatest dangers of the ocean: a jellyfish. Not just any jellyfish, but possibly the deadly box jellyfish. The fear is still there, and now I wonder: will I ever dare to go into the sea again?

The 20-year-old German tourist died yesterday after swimming in the sea at Lamai beach on Koh Samui, the police said. Another German woman was also stabbed when she went into the water with her boyfriend to offer help.
