How much money can you bring on a plane to Thailand? If you travel alone. In cash in euros and dollars. does anyone know? I don't want to get into trouble at Schiphol, but also not at customs in Bangkok.
Reader question: Is it wise to withdraw extra cash?
Is it better to go to the ATM and have extra cash at home? My wife says it is not necessary. But what if you are no longer allowed to go out on the street due to the emergency measure? Can you still access your money? I am 78 years old and live in SiSaKet.
Reader question: Where at Schiphol should I indicate that I am bringing a lot of money to Thailand?
I'm going to Thailand soon and want to take more than € 10.000 with me. Where exactly should I declare this at Schiphol after I have checked in at
EVAair?
If you bring more than 10.000 euros to Thailand from Belgium, do you have to declare this?
A question to the Belgian readers, if you bring more than 10.000 euros from Belgium, do you have to declare it? My question: when and where? Is this possible at the airport on departure to Thailand and then where, at check-in or where? Or do you have to do that somewhere in advance?
Reader question: Does the 20.000 baht requirement also apply if you re-enter Thailand?
Does the requirement of 20.000 baht (or equivalent in certain currencies) also apply if you re-enter Thailand with a valid re-entry permit if you still have plenty of time on your current retirement (or other…) extension?
No doubt my question has already been addressed on this blog, but since I can't find anything I'll ask it anyway. What do you recommend to spend a holiday in Thailand financially, bring your entire budget in euros and exchange for Baht in Thailand, or simply withdraw money from the wall every time with your bank card? My budget (without flight and hotel costs) is 3.000 € for about 18 days.
On social media and following an article on Thaivisa, some unrest has arisen because Thai immigration officials allegedly refused entry to tourists / expats because they could not show 20.000 baht in cash.
