Last week, the director of PfZW, the largest pension fund in the healthcare and welfare sector, reported that the fund is not in a good financial position. The current funding ratio had fallen to 2019% in July 94,8.

At the beginning of this month, the Social Insurance Bank (SVB) announced in its 2018 annual report that 290.909 of their customers currently live abroad. That is approximately 8% of the total number of people receiving an AOW pension from the SVB.

Dear readers of this blog. A few days ago there were extensive discussions about the deductions/discounts from AOW benefits, where I noticed that almost none of them were accompanied by a source reference and were written down off the cuff. With this contribution I try to shed some light after 7 years of unsuccessful litigation on this issue with the CRvB.

With this I would like to inform/warn readers against illegal actions by the SVB (Social Insurance Bank), which, without proof, first sold me a partner in Thailand (Oh, Mr. van Dijk, you understand that we assume that men like you in Thailand have a partner!) and my old age pension decreased. Subsequently deprived of my residency because of: “no lasting relationship with the Netherlands”.

How many euros will I be reduced on my Dutch AOW pension if I start living together in Thailand. I will receive my state pension for the first time this August, then I have accrued a total of 42 years. My question is, how much will I be discounted, not in percentages but in Euros?

It is clear to me that the Baht 800.000 for extending the annual visa must be on it 2 months before and 3 months after the application. After that it may drop to Baht 400.000. But what about if you have state pension, which is already Baht 500.000? That is also there after those 3 months, and therefore more than that Baht 400.000. Or does it not work like that? So the Baht 400.000 rule after 3 months is not clear to me with the combination of income (AOW) and money in a Thai bank.

Your state pension in the Netherlands: know the situation Have you lived or worked in the Netherlands in the past? Then you will probably be entitled to an AOW pension later. You retain this right if you have moved to another country. Due to new legislation, the state pension age will change in the coming years. Come back once again to the disappearance of the tax credit with AOW. I have indicated that I no longer wish to receive the tax credit, and what I see at my SVB for February: € 230 net less. I'm terrified!

I am now in Thailand for the third time in 2 years and have been staying with my girlfriend for 5 months now. Holds a Non Immigrant O visa until October 3, 2019 and then wants to extend it with extension via immigration. I am seriously thinking about making my stay in Thailand permanent, ie emigrating. I now have a Thai bank account and can park the necessary 800.000 baht on it. Furthermore, I am with pre-pension through the ABP after 41 years of education. But I don't have a state pension yet, I won't get that for another two years.

I will soon have a monthly income of € 1.000 on AOW and a monthly income of € 900 on pensions. (in total well above the required 65.000 Baht per month). However, on some Thai sites it is indicated that the 65.000 Baht should consist purely of pension money and that the AOW is not seen as a pension.

A question about if you live in Thailand as a retiree. Suppose you receive your accrued pension and the full 100% AOW. Will you be cut on benefits because the standard of living in Thailand is cheaper? And if so, does that only apply to your accrued pension or only to the AOW or both. And how much are you cut?

Despite frequent attention in politics and the media, the state pension age is still higher than expected for many people. A majority therefore indicates that they would like to stop working earlier than the state pension age.

I saw alarming reports on the internet that the payroll tax credit for state pensioners abroad will disappear as of 1-1-2019. I am going to emigrate at the end of January 2019, I am single and my AOW pension is € 1114 per month in the Netherlands. There is a tax credit of no less than € 219. That leaves € 895. And because the AOW is an important part for the income statement, that means that I need to have about € 2500 more in my bank account for a new annual visa.
