Thailand is an excellent destination for sun worshipers and beach lovers. More than 3.200 kilometers of tropical coastline guarantee this. The new e-brochure of the Thai tourist office lists the top 50 most beautiful beaches and islands of the Andaman coast and the Gulf of Thailand.

Most beautiful beaches in Thailand

The most beautiful beaches of Thailand can be found in the south on the Andaman coast. Adang Island Beach in Satun, Long Beach on the Phi Phi Islands and Bilae Beach on Hong Island near Krabi are the best beaches in Thailand according to the Thai government. Both beaches have been awarded 5 stars. It is the first time that the Thai government has awarded five stars for 'beach quality'. Among the four-star beaches we find Sai Kaew Beach on Samet Island near Rayong, Hua Hin Beach and Chaweng Beach on the holiday island of Koh Samui.

Beach life

There is plenty to do on most Thai beaches. You can rent a jet ski, dive or snorkel. But you can also get a relaxing Thai massage on the beach, including a manicure or pedicure if necessary. Beach vendors come by with ice cream, cold drinks, fresh fruits and fresh fish.

A look under water is just as much fun. After all, Thailand is one of the best diving destinations in the world, with many coral reefs and associated flora and fauna. Koh Samui and surrounding islands (Koh Tao) are worth mentioning, as are Phuket and the Phi Phi Islands. Diving trips are taken from Phuket to completely undiscovered Burmese islands in the Andaman Sea. Koh Chang and surrounding islands, on the border with Cambodia, are among the latest dive acquisitions. But diving is also possible in Pattaya and Hua Hin.
