'Took in the boat at Jomtien beach'
The boulevard at Jomtien Beach is undergoing a metamorphosis. An eye-catcher is the 'boat' at the beginning of the beach.
At the beginning of the Jomtien Beach near the police station, the concrete boat is a real eye-catcher. It clearly reads Jomtien Pattaya Beach (see photo). For people who feel taken on board by Thai 'entrepreneurs', this boat is a landmark to walk through to the police station.
A schedule has been drawn up on the board near the “boat” for those interested who want to follow the developments.
I think when it's done it will look great.
But I doubt whether it is functional, too little space to walk with all these planters of 2 by 2 meters, especially in a wheelchair, I foresee problems. (Only 1 meter remains to walk)
The manhole covers are also on this meter, which often stick up, so I sometimes expect a tripping accident.
Many of the tiles used already look very dirty, which is not good for the overall appearance.
Do not understand that the beach has not been sprayed +/- 20 meters and the road network has not been adapted to the ever-growing number of cars, s and mopeds, and the number of parking spaces has also been reduced considerably.
All in all an improvement for Jomtien .
Beautiful trees had to make way for that concrete container. Isn't that an improvement? Before , many people were having a picnic in the shade of those trees , nice to see . Now nothing but concrete and burning sun. They could have spent that money better to improve those smelly open sewers .
Ashtrays at “the boat” would have been welcome: there are already 100 butts on top (and around).
The tiles are already dirty. Too bad that many trees have fallen.
Previously there were benches (with trees) in 3 places. That was more fun and enjoyable.
Opposite soi 7 was such a cozy place: benches with trees. Now they are on the edge of the boulevard.
What is further retarded is that no nice steps have been made between soi 7 and soi 8 to access the beach from the sidewalk: now the beach chair owners have placed their ugly wooden steps again. shame!
In the field of "water management" people have also not been smart: in case of a heavy rain shower, a tsunami of water comes from soi 5 in particular. after which it can flow onto the beach (via a wide staircase).
A small rain shower obediently does this, but in a cloudburst it flows straight on. Result: the new path opposite soi 5 undermined and collapsed.
All in all, not an unqualified success.
