It is actually too sad for words that only now, after all these years, the sewage drainage of the Walking Street is discussed. We cannot offer the seaside resort of Pattaya to tourists in a cleaner way. The nightlife takes place in Walking Street and then it goes unnoticed, the entrepreneurs apparently thought.

The “discovery and communication” comes after a meeting eight months ago.

101 Walking Street companies are informed that the current waste water management is insufficient and that this must change. A new sewerage system will have to be installed and part of the bill will be presented to the property managers.

City Hall will contribute 31,5 million baht to the project, according to Sutham. The rest will have to be paid for by the business owners. Depending on the location, this will have to be calculated in more detail. However, before this action plan goes ahead, several meetings will have to take place.

Once approved, construction is expected to take six months.

The sewage water from walkingstreet will probably flow into the sea at a different location, given that the water treatment plant is already too small to process all the sewage water.
And building a new treatment plant will take some time before it is ready.
That is, if there are already plans for that installation, of course.

You forget to mention that even one company was found that did not drain into sewers but directly into the harbour. (source Pattaya mail)

Quite contradictory to the messages from the town hall.
The police/military have been threatening at least half for decades
of the companies in Walking Street to be rigorously banned.
That is why all this looks more like a rather unimaginative theatre.
If the companies will incur the necessary costs, of which can they then inform the police + ect. etc. keep paying.
Some go-go's pay a minimum of 60.000 Bath pm
