Demolished Golf Center

Anyone who has not been to Pattaya and the surrounding area for a while will be amazed at all the changes that are taking place.

You see a lot of clearcutting in unexpected places. A famous point is in Pattaya East. The grandly announced project of the Sports Arena at Chayapruek 2 is still not finished. Even the military has been called in temporarily to get more momentum into the project's progress. It should have been completed a few years ago and should be functional. The terrain in front of it was initially stripped of its natural trees and shrubs. After that it remained silent. The story behind it is clear. For safety reasons, the Provincial Electricity Authority claims a large piece of land around a high-voltage pylon. In addition, the terrain has such a difference in height that it must either be excavated or raised, which entails a huge expense item.

At Thungklom Tamnam (Soi 89) was a practice location for golf. Progress could be tracked via computers. Also equipped with a coffee shop and massage parlor. Everything has gone to the ground, although there was still interest in it. In the vicinity of the Big C corner Sukhumvit Rd and Pattaya Thai, a number of businesses have disappeared such as a gym, framer, beauty salon, and so on. All that remains now is a desolate mess.

A large Chinese structure has been built near the Topsshop in Pattaya East. It is unclear whether this will be used as a restaurant or as office space. No further announcements will be made about it.

Those who are more familiar with Pattaya and the surrounding area will be able to point out more locations where construction activities take place. It is nice to see that on the way from Pattaya East to Hua Yai a large building has been built on a mound to prevent possible flooding.
