The free WiFi service launched by the city council along Beach Road in Pattaya in November 2017 has turned out to be a flop. Only Thais can register, so foreign tourists are of no use.

The free Wi-Fi, which was announced with great fanfare, which would be available from the Dusit Thani Hotel Pattaya to the Bali Hai harbor (24 Wi-Fi hotspots), turns out not to work. To use the service, you must register, but this is only possible if you have Thai nationality (www.pattaya.go.th/pattaya-city-wifi-free/).

Already last year, foreign tourists and expats complained that they cannot register, but nothing seems to have been done with the complaints.

It is incorrect that you can only register if you have Thai nationality.
Having a Thai phone number and access to your own email (to receive a verification code is sufficient.
    I succeeded in March 2018.

Throbs like a sore finger. Registered on March 17 without any problem.

I also had a Thai nr° and had no problems in January either, it worked perfectly.
