Bangkok is an impressive city. There is much to see. Most tourists, especially those who visit this exotic metropolis for the first time, want to see and experience as much as possible.

To experience the unique atmosphere of Bangkok and its surroundings, most tourists book one trip. However, when you see the overwhelming offer, it doesn't make a choice any easier. We have listed the 10 most popular excursions especially for this group.

The 10 most popular excursions in and around Bangkok

1. Temples & the Royal Palace of Bangkok in the old center – Duration of the tour: three and a half hours
Bangkok has hundreds of temples, one more beautiful than the other. This tour is highly recommended, because you visit the three most beautiful temples in Bangkok. These are Wat Trimitr, Wat Pho and Wat Benjabophit.

The excursion also takes you to the most religious site of Thailand. We are talking about the royal palace of Bangkok. Within the walls of this complex you will find the emerald Buddha in the temple Wat Phra Kaew. This spiritual icon is carved from jade. It is the most sacred Buddha statue in Thailand.

2. Cycling through Bangkok – Cycling time: three hours
A bicycle tour is the best way to explore all corners of Bangkok. Yet most tourists do not know that this is possible. Feel the cool breeze through your hair. You will be cheerfully waved to by the locals you pass along the way.

The bike ride will take about three hours (a whole day is also possible) and starts from the hectic Chinatown. After a fascinating hour you cross the river and continue the route through a lively working-class district. This is the real Bangkok. After about half an hour with the bikes into the longtail boats. This keeps the tour variable, comfortable and above all relaxed.

Clearly why this used to be called the Venice of the East. The cruise takes you to the 'forgotten green' areas of rural Bangkok. You suddenly almost stand in the jungle, it seems. These are the (almost) abandoned plantations on the outskirts of the city. After a Thai meal you head back to Chinatown.
