Dear members of Thailandblog.be/nl, dear golfers,
For several years, before the Covid-19 pandemic, I played several times on the challenging golf courses “Santiburi Country Club” in Chiang Rai as well as the “Chiang Mai Highlands Golf and Spa Resort. These are all very challenging as well as beautiful courses, few people in September/October, no waiting times and by the way the caddies are very friendly, giving you the direction to where you should try to play to get a birdie or par or boogey . You may look at the caddies but not touch them, certainly not on the grounds. Try to concentrate on your game (ball) and enjoy the beautiful backdrops, for me both golf courses are definitely worth a 12 / 10, sublime greens, the fairways are very good, enough bunkers and water features. If you are there and you want to play a round of golf, go there blindly and last but not least a Green Fee is one tenth or twentieth of the prices in Western Europe, just like for the golf carts.
The best time to play is very early in the morning, also because of the mosquitos, some golfers ask a tee time at 06.00:07.00 am, I always started at 07.30:18 to 2000:XNUMX am, after the XNUMX holes I invited my caddy out for a lunch they certainly won't turn down, afterwards I gave them a pretty penny (XNUMX THB) for their expert information but you don't have to do this, but know that the caddies don't have much.
This fall I'm going back to Thailand and I'm taking my golf attributes back with me, I've never been to southern Thailand and it won't be an issue this time either, besides playing golf we are there with a company with 68 employees .

Just a few little things about the story and the first reaction.
In the story, the English word, Course, is translated as a course. That must really be a golf course.
Speaking about the price, for these top ten courses the green fee + caddy and car is between 150 and 200 euros. Otherwise a nice story.
Most of the courses mentioned I have already played with great pleasure.
    Kind regards, Dik Lenten.

Yes for golfers Thailand is a must , I have played from the top at Siam Country club, Laem Chabang International Country Club, Khao Kheow Country Club and Green Valley Country Club. And then many others around Pattaya and Rayong . It is indeed great to play on beautiful golf courses and a good (nice) caddy is indispensable. Incomparable to the golf here in Belgium but yes we have to move on. At least when I go back there will be a game.

    Dear golfers, dear Thailand bloggers,
I am leaving for Thailand at the end of October - beginning of November and will spend my retirement there, not far from where I will live there is a small golf course. (9 holes)
My question: CAN I BECOME A MEMBER, as here in Belgium I am a member of the Royal Golf Club du Hainaut (in Erbisoeul – Mons) and a life member since 1993.
Is a beautiful very old golf course (1923) and is apparently an easy course but ...., OR DO I HAVE TO PAY A GREEN FEE OVER AND OVER AGAIN, how do the Thai golfers do it?

Wishing you all lots of fun golfing and
    Please your responses
    Andre

Good story, the great Banyan golf course got a new name last year and is now called pineapple valley, new name but still the same fantastic experience. When you drive there you drive past pineapple fields. Besides Pineapple valley Hua Hin has many golf courses, the also named Black Mountain and Majestic Cree are part of it. The latter is a lot cheaper than the first two. Furthermore there is the Hua Hin golf festival every year in August/September. In these months you can play for heavily reduced prices on the affiliated courses. Also courses like Spring field, Majestic creek, Lake view, Royal Hua Hin (in the city and the oldest golf course in Thailand), Palm hills and the latest addition Sea Pine (by the sea with 2 island holes and flat, so easy to walk) are a pleasure to play and are located in or around Hua Hin.
