The year 2013 is coming to an end and then it is nice to see which trends are showing up on the popular social media site Instagram.

The use of social media is very popular among Thai youth. This is also evident from the top 10 most popular location and cities on Instagram.

Instagram is a free mobile app for sharing digital photos or videos on mobile devices. The photos and videos can be digitally filtered and shared on social networking sites, such as Instagram itself. There are more than 150 million users worldwide. Nowadays, Instagram not only functions as a photo app, but also as an alternative to Facebook. Young people in particular use it to chat and share information.

Most photographed Instagram location in the world

Just like last year, there is a location in Thailand at number 1: the luxurious shopping mall Siam Paragon in Bangkok. Last year, Suvarnabhumi Airport was number one worldwide, but the airport dropped to ninth place in 2013. The Eiffel Tower in Paris is no longer even in the top 10 this year.

New in the top 10 in 2013 are: Walt Disney World, High Line and Central Park in New York and the Bellagio fountains in Las Vegas.
