Pa La-U Waterfall, located in Hua Hin District of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, is temporarily closed to visitors due to safety hazards caused by persistent heavy rains.

This popular destination in Kaeng Krachan National Park faces dangerous conditions due to runoff carrying murky sediment, said Somchet Chantana, director of the Regional Protected Areas Office 3.

Unsafe paths due to rainfall

Continuous rainfall in the Huai Sat Yai sub-district has made the hiking trails to the waterfall dangerously slippery, forcing its closure. This closure took effect on Friday, July 19. Mongkol Chaipakdee, the head of the national park, stated that access to the waterfall will remain restricted until it is safe to reopen it.

The Pa La-U waterfall is known for its breathtaking natural environment and consists of 11 levels. The seventh level is particularly popular because of its vast, swimmable water surrounded by dense forest. The higher levels of the waterfall are less frequently visited due to the steep and rocky climbs, which pose a greater challenge for visitors.

Park officials closely monitor weather conditions and trail safety. They will reopen the waterfall once the weather improves and the trails are safe again. These measures have been taken to ensure the safety of visitors and to ensure that everyone can enjoy the beauty of the Pa La-U waterfall without facing any risks.

The closure of the waterfall highlights the need for precautions when visiting nature reserves, especially during the rainy season. Visitors are advised to stay abreast of the latest information from park authorities and adjust their plans accordingly.

Once conditions improve and the waterfall reopens, Pa La-U Waterfall will remain one of the most enchanting natural attractions in the region, perfect for nature lovers and adventurers who want to enjoy the serene and untouched beauty of Thailand.
