Wat Samphran, the spectacular temple of the dragon (video)
One Temple is not the other and that certainly applies to this special construction. The Wat Sampran is a spectacular temple about 40 km west of Bangkok. The tower of 17 floors, which is 80 meters high, is particularly striking. And that's not only the tower is pink and a gigantic dragon winds around it.
The Wat Samphran is a special and striking temple located in the Sam Phran district, west of Bangkok, Thailand. This building is an impressive piece of architecture that is relatively unknown to most tourists.
The temple's most notable feature is a huge dragon that coils around the 17-story building. This dragon is hollow and visitors can walk inside it. Symbolizing Buddhist philosophy, it teaches visitors about the path to enlightenment through the experience of walking through the dragon.
Also known as the Dragon Temple, the temple is 80 meters high and built in 1985. It was designed as a place of worship and meditation for Buddhist monks and other followers of Buddhism. The temple also has several outbuildings and gardens, each of which has its own spiritual significance and purpose.
Another notable feature of the Wat Samphran is the giant statue of Guanyin, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. This impressive statue adds to the spiritual atmosphere of the place.
Although the Wat Samphran is lesser known than other temples in Thailand, it is appreciated for its unique beauty and spiritual significance. It is a fascinating destination for those interested in Buddhism, architecture, or just want to discover something off the beaten track.
If you walk up to the roof in the tower, you can enjoy a special view and you can take a picture with the dragon. The idea for this striking structure came after a monk started to fast and meditate for seven days. In a dream this building revealed itself to him.

Went last year, very nice monks who speak reasonable English and are happy to show you around the huge garden with special statues and plants. The tower itself could not be climbed. The staircase/dragon appeared to be about to collapse and looked like it wouldn't open again any time soon.
The video accompanying the article therefore only shows beautiful drone images of the outside... However, the complex is also very much worth a visit without going upstairs.
Been here 3 weeks ago. Looks impressive, but as Frank says above: very poorly maintained and doesn't really look safe.
