Doi inthanon

Doi inthanon in the province Chiang Mai takes you to the roof of Thailand where you can literally stand in the clouds. The highest mountain in Thailand is no less than 2.565 meters high. The area around this one berg, which is a foothill of the Himalayas, forms a beautiful national park with an unusually rich flora and fauna, more than 300 different bird species and you will find beautiful waterfalls.

The top of this mountain is shrouded in mist. It can be quite cold here so bring a jacket. Spectacular are also the beautiful Pagodas with a special Chedi, which were built in honor of the late King Bhumibol and his wife.

There are many day trips to this mountain, usually followed by a visit to a hill tribe or coffee plantation and a waterfall. It is worth booking such an excursion with an English-speaking guide because there is a lot to see that needs an explanation.
