The metropolis Bangkok offers everyone who likes it shop holds an unprecedented experience. You can find fantastic bargains in luxurious shopping malls or at the local street markets.
The most famous shopping area in Bangkok is located on the Rama 1 road. You could start shopping at Mah Boon Krong (MBK), if you are looking for local products or electronics. Cross the intersection and you can enjoy yourself at Siam Discovery and Siam Center, where you will find the famous fashion brands. It is also recommended that it is located further away Siam Paragon. this is more of a luxury entertainment center with department stores, restaurants and entertainment such as cinemas and a marine aquarium. On the other side of Siam Paragon you can visit Siam Square, this area is more aimed at young people. Nice to see the small alleys with many hip shops, eateries and entertainment.
Continue towards the Ratchaprasong Intersection and there you will find Central World (CTW), which is one of the largest shopping malls in Southeast Asia. In the area even more shopping centers such as Zen and Isetan. Gaysorn Plaza, Erawan, Central Chidlom and BigC.
Want to see even more? Then you can go via Sukhumvit Road to the very luxurious Central Embassy, Terminal 21, Emporium and EmQuartier. You will find local Thai designer boutiques and shops of famous brands here.
If you enjoy outdoor shopping, Bangkok offers many evening and weekend markets including the world famous Chatuchak Weekend Market and the large vintage Rod Fai Market located on the east side of the city on Srinakarin Road. Pratunam market is a fantastic place to buy clothes.

One of the newer and newly opened is: ICONSIAM, although much the same compared to e.g. Paragon (https://www.iconsiam.com), with free shuttle bus from BTS Krung Thonburi or free shuttle boat from BTS Saphan Taksin or Krung.
And the very latest, so not quite ready yet, but with a surprising amount of greenery and walking opportunities and lots of greenery: 101The Third Place (http://www.101thethirdplace.com/), within walking distance from BTS Punnawithi, if from BTS On Nut or Udomsuk with a free shuttle bus.
Iconsiam was a nice place to have a drink for a fair spot with a view of the many skyscrapers.
Iconsiam is spectacular and has a very nice roof terrace above the river.
But also great prices: 1 beer + 1 white wine 720THB !!!
By 'Pratunam market', in the last sentence, shall be meant the 'Pratunam Fashion Mall'…….
In the street opposite the mall is the (clothing) market.
Just got back to NL, but half Pratunam-the old part, rather Indian tinted, with all those what many consider to be cheap clothes, has been flattened and awaiting what will be the Xth new skyscraper.
My tip: get out and about, go to local centers such as Bangkapi - it's not called HAPPYland for nothing!
