One of the most famous and largest clothing markets in Bangkok is the Pratunam Market (Thai: ประตูน้ำ). The name Pratunam stands for Water Gate.
The market consists of shops and many stalls. The stalls are more geared towards tourists. This market is located at the intersection of Ratchaprarop Road and Phetburi Road in Ratchathewi district.
This market is very cheap when it comes to clothes and textiles. You can also find shoes, fashion accessories, watches, handicrafts and more.
The Pratunam market covers the entire area around the Amari Watergate hotel and the Baiyoke towers.

Pratunam….Another Watergate??? Haha…. I've been there before, too bad the sound of the movie drowned out the voices a bit...
It is near Pantip Plaza… MY favourite…. so the best: send the girlfriend to Pratunam and me to Pantip and then meet again after a few hours… each one has his own way…
Very cozy neighbourhood. We have stayed in a hotel quite a few times.
It was always nice to walk around the neighborhood in the evenings.
During the day you could walk the big round. Bought a lot of souvenirs and clothes over time. Also for computer enthusiasts a club of a store nearby.

I assume you can place Central World and Big C opposite it (or look it up on Google Maps). This is Ratchaprasong Road.
If you follow this road, you will already see the Novotel Hotel at the Petchburi Road/ Ratchaprasong intersection. This is already part 1 of the clothing market, because Platinum Mall, the MBK of the clothing market (next to Novotel), is also located here. Opposite Platinum Mall and Novotel is Amari Watergate Hotel. Around Amari & Novotel you will find several clothing stores (and many other shops and restaurants). The majority of the shops are located in the sois of Petchburi Road behind the Amarai Watergate. So from Ratchprasong intersection to Soi 15 (Petchburi).
If you really want to see everything, you really need at least a whole day. On the one hand, it is a market where Thais and tourists also come (increasingly), but also where traders (also from the Middle East and Africa) buy in bulk. There are countless freight offices and you will also see large boxes in the shops ready to be shipped.
The area around Petchburi Road is really up and coming, which (unfortunately) also translates into higher hotel prices. But in general, activity in the area has increased and many restaurants and shops have been added. Previously, Petchburi Road was more or less a street full of mainly Opticians (certainly seen from Phaya Thai), now it is a very spacious shopping area with mainly clothing, but Pantip Plaza is also located in the middle of it.
I think even the bottom seven floors of the Sky Baiyoke Tower are crammed with textile shops. Pants, shoes, T-shirts, dresses, jackets, undershirts, everything piled up meters high, in most 'shops' there is just one path through which you can squeeze yourself through, bored to the bone traders who just sit / lie waiting for a customer, you no longer have any idea where a street or an exit is, you just want to get out of here as quickly as possible, it doesn't matter where to. Not my favorite place.
We always go to BKK with half empty suitcases and stock up in Pratunam.
My wife used to buy many beautiful silk scarves there for less than 100 THB in the past.
Bought for myself this year: 4 very nice shirts and 2 shorts. Together 2200 THB.
For my wife 4 pashminas 320 THB.
There are also a few shops on Ratchaprarop Rd selling everything you need to decorate your own clothes.
Nice to sail there from bobe market.
