Indeed a night bus there is indeed a night bus, I used one of those at the time, it was a bus with all bunk beds and I arrived well rested in the morning.

After reading all this, we are going to go to the beach somewhere near Danang next November-December.
The coast of Vietnam is much shorter at the part of Isaan and Laos where we will stay with family, which means that we will be able to free up more time on that short month of vacation.
I lived in Thailand with my Thai wife for 4 years at the time and have already seen enough.
I liked Vietnam very much and I have always said to go back.
By the way, from Mukdahan you are much faster in Danang than on the Thai coast.
