The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has shared information about the technical issues encountered so far and the improvements made to the Thailand Pass.

Tanee Sangrat, Director General of the Information Department and spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the issues such as delays experienced by some Thailand Pass QR code applicants include:

  • Incorrect upload of the desired vaccination certificate. The uploaded documents are not clear, forcing officials to check the documents manually instead of digitally.
  • The enclosed information and documents are incorrectly filled in, including information about the booked hotel that turns out not to be a SHA+ or AQ hotel.
  • Entering the same information multiple times disrupts the process. Some names have been registered several times, but with different information. For example, people register for Test & Go, but also for the Sandbox.
  • Some wrote down an incorrect e-mail address or used an e-mail address from a full mailbox. This prevented them from receiving their confirmation emails and QR codes. It was later discovered that Hotmail accounts in particular were causing problems. For the time being, it is advisable that you use another e-mail address in addition to Hotmail when registering.
  • Travelers should check their vaccination certificates in advance. Although the announcement states that the approval process takes up to 7 days, on average, Health Ministry officials can review vaccination certification documents within 3 days. For those who have an urgent need or emergency should contact the Thai Embassy in your country.
  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Digital Government Development Agency and the Department of Disease Control are constantly working to address all technical issues and improve the Thailand Pass system to facilitate access to Thailand. These improvements are in the pipeline or have already been achieved:
    • The ability to upload PDF files.
    • There will be a list of SHA+ and AQ hotels that are connected to hospitals.
    • A feature to check the progress of your application without having to re-register.
    • Speed up coordination by adding to the list of 30 countries that have a digital vaccination certificate available (QR code).

If you have any questions, you can contact the call center of the Consular Affairs Service, Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 02 572 8442, which has deployed 30 extra lines for this purpose.

    Hallo,

So it remains a strange story. The first thing that was now running reasonably well was stopping the COE application. Then come up with something new that a lot of people had/have problems with and then deny that it was their fault.
And only now with adjustments that would make it easier. These are very normal things that a programmer should implement beforehand and not afterwards.

I am flying from Brussels on Saturday 27 November with Thai airways.
I made my application on Friday, November 4 around 17.00:5.30 PM, received my Thailand pass in my mailbox on Sunday at XNUMX:XNUMX AM. I didn't expect that fast.

During the application, there were two things that stood out to me personally:

A flight number was requested while this was not specified in advance.
I had to upload two vaccination certificates of the first and second vaccination (pfizer/comirnaty). In addition, a QR code is also requested per vaccination certificate, because the QR code is on the EU vaccination certificate, I have also uploaded the same with the QR code.

All in all, it went very smoothly beyond expectations.

      Hello Barry,

Fortunately for you, you are in that 20 percent where things are going reasonably well and quickly. This will increase in the future, I have no doubt about that, but to start something like this and now cause 80 percent of applicants to get into trouble until they receive their permission, certainly does not deserve any beauty prize.
It would be good for Thailand if they would immediately post a message that everyone who has proof of application but no message yet would be allowed to board the plane with all their papers and everything would be checked manually in Swampie. There are people who have to rebook their trip, with all the consequences that entails. Thailand should be ashamed of this misery.

Won't be going until January, but I'm glad I'm already digging into it. Because there are some things that can slow things down before you can just submit the application in full.
    – Arrange $50.000 insurance
    - Booking tickets
    – Book ASQ+ hotel
    – Vaccination proof all in order
    - Passport
And then it also turned out that the Test&Go ASQ+ hotel also wants copies of the insurance policy, vaccination papers and flight ticket data. That's where the "chicken-egg" thing starts.
Once you get into it, it's not difficult at all, but it does take time.

I booked my test & go hotel last weekend and they only asked for flight number and arrival time and that makes sense because they have to come and pick you up.

Requested Thailand Pass today, went completely smoothly and very quickly. Received confirmation of receipt at 11.01:5 am and the qr code XNUMX minutes later. Much easier than the old Coe application.
