Those who want to fly back to the Netherlands from Thailand must have themselves tested. This is possible at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok. There you will find a mobile station of Samitivej Hospital (Thai: โรงพยาบาลสมิติเวช), which is a private hospital in Thailand.

This is what the Dutch government says about the mandatory test for a return journey:

Travelers from a country outside the EU/Schengen must always show a negative test result when traveling to the Netherlands. This applies to travelers aged 12 and over. What do you need:

  • a negative NAAT(PCR) test result taken up to 48 hours before departure, or
  • a negative antigen test taken no more than 24 hours before departure.

Show test results digitally or on the telephone

Do you test negative for corona before you leave for the Netherlands? Then there is less chance that you will take the virus with you. Therefore, you must show a negative COVID-19 test result. This can be done digitally on your phone. Or on paper.

Test location at the airport in Bangkok for the return journey to the Netherlands

At the airport in Bangkok you can have an ATK test done. You can wait for the results (about 15 minutes). The location can be found just outside the airport on Floor 1 (where the taxis are waiting for passengers), at exit 3. There are two containers there (see photos). Cost 550 THB per person. More information: call 084-660-4096

Proof of test will be checked at check-in

Remember that your negative ATK or PCR test result will be checked at the check-in desk. So without such a document you cannot check in.

    Hallo,

And now the question: What happens if you have tested positive?

A: Back to a Hotel and wait for you to be negative again

    B: Quarantined in Thailand!

    C: ?

    Anyone experience this!

It seems to me that you have to go to the hospital and quarantine there. (covid insurance)
I recently read somewhere, a school girl was tested positive and had to be quarantined in the hospital, so was the whole family, 10 days.
After a long discussion, the father managed to get them quarantined at home, but apparently there are also many snags to this.
      Results within XNUMX minutes ???
while in the Netherlands you have to wait 24 hours for a result?
      we'll see how it goes.

This is an ATK test and not a PCR test. You also have to wait longer for the results of a PCR test in Thailand.

    Dear editors,
What are the opening hours? I fly in May at 01.15 am and check.in at approximately 22.00 pm. Are they open then?

The photo in the top right corner says 24 hours.

Does anyone know if this post is open 24/7?

    • Peter (editor) says up

Yes, also in the picture. Top right.

        I see, thank you.

Since I fly from Koh Samui, I choose to do my test there. If it is positive, I would rather be stuck in KS than in Bangkok. The antigen test is more expensive: 1400 THB. This is taken by http://www.samuihomeclinic.com (test #3 is the antigen test). Results came in after 3,5 hours, instead of the 1,5-2 hours as stated on the website.

It is also possible to take a PCR test via Samui Hospital. A large tent has been specially set up on the hospital grounds.

Good service, you get a number and this number is called to collect the result.

Please note, this test location closes for an hour during lunchtime. And there can be quite a queue.

So take plenty of time when transferring.

    NB.
If you fly via a country within the EU that does not require this test, for example via Zurich with Swiss Air, then this test is not necessary.

Switzerland does not oblige the test, you fly via Switzerland to the Netherlands, Switzerland is a country that participates in the eu rules, testing is not mandatory.

However, you will be asked for the completed form regarding the Health Declaration, which will then no longer be checked at Schiphol.

Unheard of, landed this morning this morning.

Done last Saturday evening for our night flight with KLM and within 10 minutes the result was not busy at all, and we were tested negative.
But now we are in isolation at home because we still have Corona, of course I don't know where we got infected, but only feel cold and not really sick, but luckily we were able to fly back in time.
In order not to be faced with surprises, we had already tested ourselves on Friday with a rapid test.

What about flights with Thai . A to Belgium? Can you also take an ATK test?

    • Tony says up

Last Monday we returned from Bangkok to Belgium with Qatar Airways. We were fully vaccinated and boosted. At check-in we had to show the digital PLF form on our smartphone, but it was not checked for authenticity.
No covid test required before departure.
On arrival we had to show this PLF form again before we were allowed to go to passport control. Here too, it was only checked whether it was in the smartphone, but again it was not scanned or checked. No longer a test or quarantine is necessary in Belgium.

According to this post, the document will be checked at check-in.
You cannot check in without this proof of negative test.

Well I'm flying back to the UK at the end of this month.
KLM flight with stopover/transfer at Schiphol.
According to UK regulations I do not have to do a test when entering as a fully vaccinated person.
Unfortunately, I can't find anywhere on the KLM website whether I have to get tested before departure from BKK.
Strictly speaking, I will not be in the Netherlands.
