Dear readers,
Where should the main occupant (Pa, Ma or partner) report if I (farang) stay there for a longer period of time? Can this be done at the town hall (Tetsabaan) or does it have to be done at immigration?
For example, I am staying with relatives in Sikhio, can they register me there or do you have to go to Nakhon Ratchasima Immigration?

You can download a so-called TM30 form online, and hand it in to Immigration within 24 hours.
As stated on the form, in some cases, if for example the Immigration is not directly nearby, it can also be done with the Local Police.
In both cases, the owner of the property is obliged to do this within 24 hours.
I went to Kantharalak police myself with my girlfriend. But they did nothing with it and said it is not Bangkok here.
The next time we went to immigration in Sisaket, it was arranged within 30 minutes, including proof of my driver's license. Cost nil.

Every year I go to Thailand with my Thai wife for 4 weeks and stay in my house, which is in my wife's name. We have never filled a Tm30. Why would I? We regularly stay with family during our holidays. Do we have to fill in a form every time and take the trouble to go to the emigration or police office? I wonder who's going to check on me. Why does your girlfriend have to fill in a tm30, she is a Thai? You don't have to do that for yourself because it's not an official address for that eatery.
Why not ? If you can spend the night there and her mother has her official address there, her mother should report him. Whether there is a business where food or whatever is sold does not matter in itself.

The owner of the place where a foreigner is staying must do this. Hotels or guesthouses have provided TM30 forms with a list to register all foreigners. For me this happens via the internet, although I am the only one here. If you move from place to place, you must actually free up time every day to register Tm30.
