I have lived in since 2006 Thailand, together with my Filipino girlfriend. At that time (when a Shinawatra was also in power) I also had problems obtaining a visa.

I got retirement visa but my girlfriend didn't because we weren't married. I am still married to another Filipina who refuses to divorce. My current girlfriend was allowed to stay in Thailand for three months on and off during that time. At that time I had a house in Ko Kong Camb and a room in Trat. We felt like bums, kept driving up and down with a pickup with household goods and the costs were high

The reason we were allowed to stay in Thialand for three months and not for three months was because a child had been murdered. The suspected perpetrator was an American English teacher. Then Prime Minister Thaksin and the population were furious and introduced visas every three months. The FBI investigated the matter and concluded that the American teacher had not killed the child. I hoped that this would turn things around, but that did not happen, because that would mean a loss of face for the then government.

What I would like to know from the readers of Thailandblog: How do I get a tourist visa for my Filipino girlfriend. Can I do that through Laos? I have already tried at the Thai embassy in Manila, but that is way too expensive. The Filipinos who work there want an extra for the services provided.

Who can help me?

I know plenty of Filipinos who live in Thailand. If not married then they go every 3 months. out of the country to arrange a new tourist visa or to get a stamp for their multi-entry visa. Some stay on a Student Visa because they are enrolled in some course.
As for the Thai Embassy in Manila; I arranged non-immigrant visas for child and girlfriend (Filipino), a piece of cake. No extra costs! Can't imagine that either.
From Bangkok there is a Filipino with a Thai wife who arranges everything via Cambodia. Of course you can arrange it through Laos or wherever.

We didn't succeed in Manila, Peter was probably more lucky, and the right person.
who helped us wanted to see money .
normal in the pillipyns.as far as cambodia is concerned, we obtained tourist visas there for a long time, in kokong, were lazy people who arrange this usually go to a hotel or tax driver arranged this.often the visa there was also free, we did pay the people who arrange that. and went well for a long time. Now other people, I heard, new government
my girlfriend has to show etm cart bills from home power warranty from my
all that for tourist visas, and that has to be done every 2 months. my data was not requested
known in trat sso social system. where I had to arrange my state pension
so income is important, and partner who you maintain does not play a role.

  3. I asked a Filipina for some inside information and her opinion.
-It is very difficult to get a divorce in the Philippines because the Catholic beliefs are very strongly enshrined in the legislation there.
-President Aquino recently rejected a bill to make this easier,
-It is possible to get a divorce if the other party refuses to cooperate, but then the pouch must be drawn and you must demonstrate that you have been living separately for X number of years. Divorce is therefore not an option for the poor in the Philippines.
    - If all this does not work, then an Education visa may be an easier option. 3 years to study Thai, 2 years to study English. Costs (I think) around 28,000 baht per year. Possibly easier/cheaper than traveling back and forth continuously.

Divorce is crying in the Philippines 50000 p advance says lawyer: I promise 1 year and you are divorced. When the year is over I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Business. Since I have 12 of them
lived for years, fly to Manila again, never again for visa. Too many expenses
I don't understand Thai government this way do you spend your state pension in other countries? They promise better economy, the new government. I don't see it that way, 2006 the same. i was in pataya by silversee max the boss guesthouse; half full thai never complains, i think not allowed. Meet your thai in kokong camb. Then he dares to say everything. Guest house is half full all traveling for visa. Now 14 days always to the border. I live 13 km from the border. I had foresight. Still an unpleasant feeling. You get sick or forget the visa then you go to jail. i am going to laos with joan in november trying to arrange double entrance last x am 65 too old for these immigration rules

Moderator: a short sentence with quite a few typos. Look at it again.
