Home » Reader question » Want to spend a week traveling around Surin and spotting elephants?
Dear readers,
I want to spend a week in Surin in July. Would there still be villages where many residents own or maintain an elephant? Is this correct? What else is there to experience/see? Can you also recommend me any guesthouses or hotels?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
Paul (BE)

https://www.beleven.org/feest/olifantenfestival_surin_thailand We go almost every year, it is recommended to visit Ban Ta Klang there, if you want to experience the party yourself, it is best to book the hotel a little beforehand, for example on the Monday from the Friday start of the party, twice as expensive, and it is also best to leave on Monday back. Rehearsals are also fun to attend on the Wednesday before and Thursday. Highly recommended. It also attracts many tourists every year. I hope to meet your demand here Our annual. Hotel is the Grace resident hotel near event within walking distance. Hotel is top notch rooms, breakfast and evening restaurant
I've been there a few times too.
However, the annual Surin Elephant Round-up is not until the third week of November.
If you go to Ban Taklang, don't forget to visit the new Elephant Temple and the elephant cemetery.
