Dear readers,

My question concerns the travel schedule that you must submit when applying for a multiple entry visa. I will visit countries around Thailand, but I really don't know yet when and how long I will stay in those countries. Is this schedule voluntary or binding?

Regards,

Gusie

Thai bureaucracy. Thais love to collect useless information. At the barriers of a condo where we stayed, someone was sitting day and night who wrote down the car numbers. We did as children, but we were not paid for it. Also at the pool you were supposed to give your room number. Collecting useless data year after year is a costly business. With the increasing aging of the population, there will gradually be an urge to weigh up usefulness against necessity. I think you can enter whatever you want. Have been filling in the same hotel for years when entering, but so corrupted that it is actually nonsensical information. When we enter, we have no idea where we will be staying. This year also suddenly had to submit a travel schedule with the visa application. Just thought of something because hadn't booked anything yet. As long as all the boxes are filled in, no one will ever look at it again because it is completely useless.

No itinerary is needed. This is the first time I read something like this, but I have a multiple entry visa myself. You can go wherever and whenever you want.

That's right. An itinerary is requested for a multiple entry.

Check out the new website below

Requirements for a Non-Immigrant type O (other), single and multiple entries.

      It looks like this

As far as I know this is only the case in the Netherlands. (Thai Consulate/Embassy)
In Belgium this was not asked in January and I have not heard from anyone that this is also the case now.

Strange, I have a Retirement Visa O, multiple entry and although I have read that you have to “unsubscribe”, I flew to the Netherlands twice last year and never had any problems with that. Was I lucky then?
I can never commit to a fixed date for my flights and only buy my ticket online the day before or when I know there is room on the plane, since I always fly on standby.

      Jack,

What do you mean by unsubscribe and where did you read that?

    • Nico B says up

      Jack,
I don't think you had a Retirement Visa O Multiple Entry when you flew to the Netherlands, never seen this exist: Retirement Visa O Multiple.
There is a 50+ Visa Non Immigrant O Multiple Entry, you must mean that and I think you had it then.
Then you received a Retirement Visa and if you leave Thailand with it, you should certainly not forget to apply for a Re-Entry Permit and you will receive that.
RonnyLatPhrao explains the matter very well below, based on what he distilled from what you write.
Jack, keep a close eye on your case so you know exactly what you have.
      success,

Maybe I misunderstood.. there is a stamp in my passport. It reads – TO KEEP YOU STAY PERMIT RE-ENTRY PERMIT MUST BE MADE BEFORE LEAVING THAILAND.
Which means that you would have to go to immigration and get a re-entry permit. Perhaps that only applies if your stay abroad extends beyond the date of your next 90 stamp. I was never gone that long… could that be?

    • RonnyLatPhrao says up

      Jack,

I think I now suspect what you mean. (let me know if I'm correct or not)

You probably had (last year or earlier?) a Non-Immigrant “O” Multiple entry.
You have applied for and received this in the Netherlands based on age 50+.
I don't think there would have been any talk of a travel schedule then either
With that you went to the Netherlands twice last year.
Nothing wrong with that, because you could enter and leave as often as you want with that visa, until the end of the validity period, without having to let anyone know anything.

I suspect that in the meantime the date of your Non-Immigrant “O” validity period has expired, and that you have requested and received an extension of one year in Thailand on the basis of retirement.
In addition to the stamp with extension, they have also put the stamp with the mention (see your text in capital letters) in your passport as a reminder.
If you now want to go to the Netherlands (or just outside Thailand), you will have to apply for a re-entry (single or multiple if you want several times) before you leave Thailand. That's what that text in capital letters means as a reminder
Don't forget this or your renewal will expire, and you can start again with a Non-Immigrant "O".

So it is the stay that is extended (on the basis of a Non-Immigrant visa O), not the validity period of your Non-Immigrant O with multiple entries. A misunderstanding may arise.

The 90-day stamp actually has nothing to do with it anymore, because you no longer have to leave Thailand for 1 year, so you don't have to get a stamp every 90 days.
What you do need to do now is the 90 day notification.
You must do this if you stay in Thailand for an uninterrupted period of 90 days.
So if you leave Thailand you start again at 1 when you come back.
This is a piece of paper that you must have in your passport and not a stamp.
I did that in the past with the mail. Worked fine.

    gusie,
That travel schedule is not binding, I also applied for a Multiple Entry and received confirmation from the Thai Embassy, don't worry, they want to see that you plan to enter and leave Thailand, that justifies asking for a travel schedule and that justifies your application for a Multiple.
    Have a nice trip,
    Nico B
