Experience with Bitdefender VPN in Thailand?
Dear readers,
I have been using NORD VPN for several years now and it worked great in Thailand.
Recently during my stay in Germany NORD VPN performed an update and now it is not working properly.
I have received tips regarding Bitdefender.
Are there any readers who have experience with Bitdefender in Thailand?
Awaiting experiences.
Regards,
Arno

Dear Arno,
I have no experience with Bitdefender. I have also been using NordVPN for years.
Recently received one of their updates here too.
On the TV and a laptop (Windows 10) no problems encountered and it continued to work just fine.
However, on my other laptop (Windows 11) the program no longer worked.
After uninstalling I then went to the NordVPN website and downloaded the latest version from there.
And it works again to full satisfaction.
Also problems with Nord VPN, now using VPN Netherlands, works well
I have been using GooseVPN for a while now, a Dutch provider that works excellently. Fantastic helpful helpdesk that responds quickly and usually solves the problem well. Just signed up for a lifetime subscription for 129 euros.
In my experience, NordVPN is an unreliable and overpriced VPN.
I have noticed several issues under Windows 11 such as:
– 30% less bandwidth while using NordVPN
– blocks some websites without stating why
– loses connection to the Internet, you will have to manually refresh the VPN server.
– the additional protection options, which you can switch on or off, make your internet visit completely unstable and opaque.
I reported my problems to support and they responded with all kinds of laborious tests that I had to perform on my PC, which was a lot of work and required a fair amount of knowledge of the system.
I have a fair amount of knowledge of Windows and networking but I'm not a professional.
All 14 attempts and contacts with support have not yielded any improvement.
At one point I asked to cancel the annual subscription and pay me back for the remaining months.
This was not accepted, would not be possible, I should have complained within 30 days.
Since the issues I identified were not directly noticeable as a result of using NordVPN, I obviously disagreed.
In my opinion, NordVPN is an unreliable and overpriced product.
I have been using VPN Netherlands for half a year now. Works perfectly! rn fast, so far no problems at all.
Would have liked to see something from Goosevpn but every time I open the site Nord vpn comes over it For me the second reason why I no longer want Nord vpn The first reason is the ridiculous price increase at the end of my contract period with Nord. Any idea how I can avoid that pop up from Nord? I now have AVG vpn but also not satisfied with it, it loses the connection to the internet every now and then and very often you have to turn on the connection yourself even if you are logged in to a site then AVG still indicates that you are not connected. I am slowly looking for another provider.
Thank you very much for the answers.
So Rob has exactly the same as I have
I also have Windows 11 and since the upgrade last week it has been a mess.
I have daily contact with the helpdesk, with all kinds of tips to try things out, but nothing.
It's a shame, because until last week Nord VPN worked to my complete satisfaction.
Although Nord VPN is very expensive at €180,00 per year.
G. Arno
