Reader question: Where can I buy plastic fenders?
Dear readers,
In the past, large wooden beams were used in inland shipping to prevent damage to the sides of the ships when they moored against each other. These wooden beams were not called fender wood for nothing. The skipper's servant walked with this wood along his ship with the mooring ship.
Nowadays this wood has been replaced by profiled plastic. As far as I know, this profile is made from recycled plastic. These profiles would be made in Thailand. Who can give me a tip? I can drop off about 1500.

The manufacturer is Lankhorst Recycling in Sneek.
From a very surprising angle (participant in the Thailand blog New Year's reception) came into contact with a Thai supplier. Hans thanks for your response, but I was really looking for a supplier here in Thailand. Your contact was known to me.
Wrong information, the wooden fenders are still used the most. (active in inland shipping)
That's because WOOD is reliable at high AND low temperatures!
Unfortunately, this is not plastic from recycling!
The first PVC posts in UV light lost the plasticizers and became brittle like “blackboard chalk”.
PE , Polyethylene is another plastic and retains its strength longer.
