Dear readers,
Some time ago there was a discussion on this forum about 'the best beer'. In my opinion a somewhat nonsensical discussion, because tastes differ.
In the past I always drank Chang beer, but since they 'renewed' the recipe I switched to Archa beer. Nowhere on the label of this beer is the brewer mentioned, but the shape of the label is completely identical to that of the label of Chang beer, even the small semicircular recess at the bottom is similar.
My suspicion is that it comes from the same brewery as Chang beer.
But does anyone know this?
Willem

Chang and archa come from the same company Thaibev. I don't know if it is brewed in the same factory.
I found it interesting enough to google about it…and drop by…forgive and correct me, please…

Boon Rawd Brewery but Singha (Sing) and that seems to be number 1 here.
Thai Beverages makes Chaang. The factory is in kampaengphet, where I'm sitting for a while now, and I thought: I'll just walk by! Security at the door got no further than "Huh?" at the mention of Archa.
Thai Beverages also sells Archa. Nowhere on that factory in kampaengphet do I see anything from Archa. So it seems to me that it is made somewhere else…but it is, apparently, from the same manufacturer…I hope this helps, and if not…Cheers!
: )
ThaiBev brews the Chang beer, Archa is brewed by Cosmos Brewery. Cosmos is part of the ThaiBev conglomerate. The assumption could therefore be correct. It is a matter of brand policy and market positioning. Cheers!
The brands Chang beer, Federbrau beer and Archa beer are all 3 products of Thai Beverage company.
Interesting to mention is that Thai Beverage has made a bid for the Dutch Grolsch beer. Grolsch has been owned by SAB Miller from South Africa since 2007. SAB Miller is now merging with Anheuser-Busch. In order not to get into trouble with the regulators, they now want to sell Grolsch, among others.
With this, beer brewer Grolsch is officially in the shop window and Thai Beverage has recently shown serious interest.
This strengthens the ties between Thailand and the Netherlands. An interesting development
Dear Willem, the first major difference is in the shape and color of the bottle (glass). Chang bottle is a more modern edition, comparable to the Heineken bottles, which also gives a greater trade-in value to Chang bottles.
Greetings Jan
Ah..just a little while…According to my girlfriend's beloved brother (who drinks lau kau all day, when he has 30 baht again) it is brewed in Bangkok…I googled again…and I came across the Cosmos Brewery in Bangkok …So same producer…different factory…

Cheers again…I will, next time, sort it all out in one sitting…apologies.
Archa is indeed from the same company as chang, Thai Beverage Public Company Limited. Sangsom and Mekhong is also theirs.
Yes, Archa is brewed at the Cosmos Brewery in Bangkok and that's where Chang is said to come from.

There is no brewer on the label because even the owner of the Chang brewery doesn't throw his name out. If you drink this Archa beer for a month, you will really have problems with your stomach due to the chemicals. Even the poor Thais don't drink that.
