Reader question: Why another alcohol reduction at Chang
Dear readers,
Another alcohol reduction for bear Chang. The umpteenth intervention unfortunately: now only 5.2. Where is this going to end?
Wouldn't it have been better to stick with their 6.4 and release a Chang Light?
Regards,
Marc

Completely agree. Chang classic (6.4°) was the best beer on the market. The new Chang pulls no more. Forced to switch to Leo.
Personally, I don't mind the taste. Can go to 4,8% from me. I think it tastes better especially in the dry season, especially because you can eat a bit more of it. Mi Not with light variants for Chang. Then rather a radlet with 2%, that can be a sales and drinking success (for me), provided that orange juice excise applies.
If you haven't tasted it yet, you should try Singha Light. Chang used to have different types of beer: export, classic, draft and also Light but that was just bad.
Health!
The Chiang Beer comes from the ,,Cosmos Brewery Thailand Co LTD.

Leo has recently also been given a different look and yes it also tastes different, it is now so difficult to brew a beer that is just the same 365 days a year
I always drank Red Horse.
640 cl.
6%
50 Thb.
Good stuff.
Nb. Now I drink Soda Water 8 Thb. [Ivm] Alcoholism lurking !
It's better to stop then.
Prossy, my prossy
Leo beer has also taken measures to maintain the old price.
You have to pay more for the alcohol percentage.
That is why Chang has lowered that percentage.
Leo and perhaps Singha also reduced the contents of the bottles.
Different model bottles and 32 cl instead of 33 cl..
It remains that a beer here in Thailand is ridiculously expensive.
Almost 100% more for 24 bottles than with us.
Cor.
THEY make it ridiculously expensive because it's for the tourists and rich thai anyway.
The normal workers drink cheap lao chew.
Not drinkable, but it will get you drunk quickly.
What the Thais in any case have in common with the French is the cultivation or maintenance of budget deficits. Private or state level. In terms of sense of responsibility, you can indeed compare the Thais with Southern Europeans. I am pleased that the Thais in your area still prefer the Heineken of those budget-conscious but stiff Dutchmen.
An alcohol percentage of 4.8 like most German beer is sufficient for me personally. Beer is only burning expensive there in Thailand. If you want more German tourists, a substantial reduction in the price of beer will probably help a lot more than a free tourist visa. In principle, the beer price should be significantly reduced in order to do something about the alcoholism among the Thais. Make hard liquor significantly more expensive. If one starts drinking beer instead of Lao Khao, the drunkenness becomes a lot milder in my opinion.
I am not a beer drinker. But I do know that drunkenness is common among Thais. If the Thai do not drink less, then this way seems to be the only solution: less alcohol in the blood after the same number of glasses…
In August 2015, the 'old' Chang Classic (6%) was also replaced by the new Chang Classic (5.5%), but it turned out to be all drink talk.
