How many people can the opposition party Democrats mobilize today to demonstrate against the controversial amnesty proposal? 'City braces for amnesty chaos' headlines the Bangkok Post ominously. The Democrats are counting on tens of thousands, the authorities on seven to eight thousand at the most. The police are standing by.
We will be visiting Bangkok soon. We also want to visit an authentic floating market there. Preferably one that attracts as few tourists as possible.

The British/Dutch multinational Unilever has become involved in a riot in Thailand over a false advertisement for whitening body lotion.
The World Rock Diving Championships were held yesterday in Krabi, Thailand. Artem Silchenko won this spectacle and is the new Red Bull Cliff Diving World Champion. The 29-year-old Russian was the best after the spectacular final.
Former Prime Minister Abhisit and his right-hand man Suthep will be prosecuted for murder. The two are held responsible for the red shirts and civilians who were shot dead by the army in 2010 during the red shirt riots.
