Bangkok Municipality issues crisis center government ultimatum
The already tense relationship between the crisis center of the government and the municipality of Bangkok has been put on edge by the latter.
Bangkok wants the Froc (Flood Relief Operations Command) to work better with her. If there is no improvement in that cooperation within 48 hours, the municipality will go its own way. Meanwhile, flooding is increasing in various parts of the city.
Bangkok Governor Sukhumbhand Paribatra is clearly annoyed. The municipality already asked the Froc for water pumps a week ago and has requested that the drainage of water be accelerated. She has yet to get an answer. The municipality has also asked the Royal Irrigation Department to open 20 dams in Nong Chok District (Bangkok East) to speed up the flow of water to the Bang Pakong River in Chachoengsao province. Only nine are open. The Royal Irrigation Department says the council has sent the request to the wrong authority.
It's bad, we are also affected but can buy new again, most people are not.
I am convinced that when the water has receded we will work with man and power
to clean everything again, I am thinking of the Sunamie, two months later
Thailand was back on top through its own efforts, or so it seemed.
I hope that the government will give the poorest a good compensation, I will do the same in my immediate environment.
