Home » Calls » Urgent call again: Dutchman looking for blood donor O- (type O, Rh-)!
The Dutchman Theo Beckers urgently needs a blood donor O- (type O, Rh-). Which Dutchman, Belgian or other nationality could perhaps save his life? It is very urgent so please share this post.
Mr. Beckers' family is calling again for a blood donor. According to his son, Mr. Beckers is critical at this point, he's still losing blood. The new call is therefore still current. You can possibly contact his son or daughter. The hospital is located in Samut Prakan.
All I can do is.
Share on a Facebook page group where I am registered.
He must be hoped, as a Dutch community in Thailand

Since I have O Rh Neg, I reached out to donate blood at the very first message.
The Thai lady I got on the phone asked me to first report to the Red Cross department of Trat, where I live. I was very surprised when I was refused because of my age. Donors pretend to be younger than 56 years old in Thailand, in Belgium it is 71 years old … was a disappointment.
If you have not donated blood before the age of 56, you will be excluded, I read. Here I have a link with some details that you must meet before you can / may donate blood
https://www.thephuketnews.com/passing-all-the-rules-for-donating-blood-in-phuket-57513.php
Thanks for the info Ger-Korat
I'm not winning anyway, 60 – 65 not a regular donor in TH though. Belgian donor card was not accepted, sad for the needy. It just is.
I also have blood group O neg.? but after what I read about it here I don't even have to try. I am 83 years old. Shame. I would have liked to help.
I have O-. There was also a call (on Facebook) for this same gentleman 5 years ago. I immediately went to the hospital and was refused (I was 60 at the time), because the limit for donating blood at the time was 55. Even if you gave blood for a specific patient.
The limit is now 70 years (plus all other conditions) and on top of that, vaccinees with Sinovac have to wait a week and people who have had AstraZeneca even 4 weeks before they can give blood.
What is more important: that the gentleman gets blood or all those rules? Couldn't that gentleman sign a waiver to get blood?
Perhaps it is a tip for anyone with a special blood group to donate blood for their own use if the government does not allow you to donate for use by others. Don't ask me about the technology, but it will undoubtedly have been developed. Then at least YOU are covered if you need blood. Yes, sounds selfish but if the rules leave you no choice…
First time I responded and left phone number. Never heard anything again. I have O rhesus D negative, 70 years old and am perfectly healthy. However, I live 250 km from Bangkok and I think that is the problem.
In 2012 I also experienced this. I had to have an operation for a hip prosthesis, but without blood in stock, the hospital did not allow me to operate, (I also have O Rh-) and I had to make sure that there were 2 bags of blood in Chon Buri came .. I also posted a call on Thailandblog and it got a lot of responses . But how do I get a bag of blood from Chiang Mai in Chon Buri?? Back to the hospital and suddenly they came with the announcement that they could also provide blood through the Red Cross, but then I had to pay for it myself. The costs were 500 Thb per bag and I quickly made the decision. Incidentally, I did need the blood because the bleeding did not want to stop. After that time I also started donating blood twice a year, but after my 2 years they no longer needed my blood.
