Home » Remarkable » Spring in the Netherlands and summer in Thailand a difference of 40 degrees
Yesterday the meteorological spring started in the Netherlands and the summer period has now started in Thailand. If you look at the thermometer, you will see a considerable difference: Apeldoorn: -5 degrees and Bangkok: 35 degrees, a difference of no less than 40 degrees!
The cold in the Netherlands also has advantages, skating enthusiasts can finally skate on natural ice again. The sun is shining and that creates nostalgic pictures.
Do you also get the skating jitters or do you prefer heat in Thailand?
Back from Thailand today after being there for 1 month. Temperatures there between 32-37 degrees and here -8 with an ice-cold wind are different. If it were up to me I would know...
Nowadays, with the air conditioning, the choice is very easy. But until he bit him 60 years ago it must have been pretty unpleasant. Personally, I don't want to think about living somewhere where it only got cooler than 20 degrees for a few nights at the most in the dead of winter. And then all year round the days are about the same length.
While in the Netherlands, if you were cold, you could of course always light a fire, go to bed with a hot water bottle, or crawl closer together.
In that respect, the four seasons sound like music to my ears.
With the current technology, I would have less difficulty staying permanently in Thailand.
Frans I have been living in Thailand for 12 years now in a beautiful house with air conditioning. However, I've never used it. Only when I have visitors is it sometimes on in the 2nd bedroom where the visitors sleep. Air conditioning, one of the most unnecessary things I've ever bought. I came to Thailand for the warmth and enjoy it to the fullest.
I don't need air conditioning myself, but my husband has Hyperthermia and so he suffers a lot from the heat. So yes, against will and thanks I am also in the air conditioning room. We only sleep separately because 18 degrees is too cold for me.
I don't have air conditioner in my condo. Two vans are more than enough.
We also only returned from Thailand 3 days after a month in Changmai. It was a bit disappointing at Schiphol and now especially with that cold wind.
The current weather in the Netherlands makes me long for the day when I can say goodbye to the Netherlands for good………….
I had put a video of skating fun in the Netherlands on Facebook, actually by myself
to show my foreign friends here in Thailand how crazy we can be in the Netherlands.
I received responses from the Netherlands about whether I was homesick? Ha ha, well no, just leave me here
sit in the heat. By the way, I never learned to skate myself, it was too cold for me then!
Since, at the beginning of March, we have already reached the stage here in Trat where you really can't go 35 km for fun anymore. ride to the beach on a scooter during the day, because the water is already starting to drip off you while driving, the time has come for me to turn my gaze back to the Netherlands. Despite wife and child here, and no more obligations in the Netherlands, I am more than happy to board the bus to Subernabum at the end of March. In fact, I count down: at the airport they have air conditioning, in the plane it is normal, and in the Netherlands wonderfully fresh (usually around 10 degrees).
In other words: I live completely in the Netherlands, where I can at least do things during the day. However, when the leaves start to fall…..
Let's keep it on a love-hate relationship with both!
