There are serious concerns about King Bhumibol's health. On Saturday, the doctors had to intervene to bring his blood pressure under control. This is reported by the Royal Household Bureau.

The monarch has long been nursed at Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok. On Saturday he was given medication for high blood pressure and was put on a ventilator. In addition, a tube that drains excess cerebrospinal fluid was replaced.

A cardiogram showed that his left ventricle had too little blood supply. Doctors have administered medicines to the monarch for this.

The monarch's general state of health is said to be still unstable.
