The municipality Bangkok yesterday warned of the outbreak of dengue (dengue fever) after 671 infections were reported and one patient died. The warning applies to the districts of Thon Buri, Bang Khalaem, Khlong San, Huai Khwang and Yannawa.

Dengue (or dengue fever) is a serious infectious disease caused by a virus. The virus occurs in (sub)tropical areas and is transmitted by mosquitoes.

City workers officials will be spraying pesticides in all 7.350 districts of the city to contain the outbreak. Residents have been advised to be alert to puddles of water around the house that are often breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Since the beginning of the year, XNUMX cases of van dengue have been reported nationwide. Six people have since died.
