On Friday, Ha Yaek Lat Phrao BTS station will open on the northern extension of the Sukhumvit Line (green line). The opening is performed by Prime Minister Prayut.

A ride from Mor Chit is free for the time being because the municipality of Bangkok (BMA) is still negotiating with the operator of the line. Governor Aswin said this yesterday when he came to take a look at the new station.

The Green Line extension connects Mor Chit with the Saphan Mai-Khu Khot northern route. The BMA and government have agreed that a ticket can cost a maximum of 65 baht.

The next four stations (Phanyothin 24, Ratchayothin, Sena Nikhom and Kasetsart University) will come into operation in December, with the entire expansion expected to be completed by July 2021.

Does this mean that from now on you can take the BTS to the center from Don Muang?

The green line is the Skytrain extended in a northerly direction. For Don Mueang airport people are working on the red line, which is located west of the said green line, and is not yet ready.

I am glad, I often stay near หมอชิต (Moh Chit) and now that the line past Central Plaza Laad Praaw (ลาดพร้าว, Lad Prao ) is built I can easily visit friends there. That will be fun having a drink and back with the BTS instead of the bus. Or the taxi if it has become very late…

Does anyone have a folder at hand to indicate how this line runs exactly?

There is a map on the BTS website, hold it down with your mouse to drag it around. Unfortunately, no streets are indicated. But it just continues in a straight line from MoChit along Central Plaza Laat Praaw (lad prao). Then it finally passes east behind Don Muang. So he does not visit the airport.
