Eight tourists and the skipper of a fishing boat that capsized in a severe storm in the sea off Laem Sing near Chanthaburi have been rescued by a speedboat. The drowning people were brought to the port of Laem Ngob in Trat and were not injured.

The Meteorological Department has warned of stormy weather in parts of Thailand this week. Waves of 2 to 3 meters are expected in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. Small boats must therefore remain ashore.
