The African continent plays an important role in the growth of the world economy, so Thailand sees many opportunities to trade with African countries. Over the past 10 years, the trade volume has actually increased by 23 percent to US$ 8,2 billion in 2016.

Thailand is currently Africa's largest Asean trading nation: the largest supplier of rice and Asean's third largest investor in Africa. Several Thai companies, including state-owned oil company PTT Plc and food conglomerate CP, have already invested in many sectors in Africa.

All the more reason for the Thai government to organize the seminar 'The Colors of Africa: Opportunity, Friendship and Cooperation'. Representatives from seven African embassies were invited to speak.

According to the World Bank, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Mozambique are among the fastest growing economies in the world.

Impressive “growth figures”: 10 per year for 2,3 years, about the same as the price increases. My conclusion is that growth is stagnating in trade with Africa despite the growing economies in Africa.
Exports to the small Netherlands amount to 4,2 billion USD in 2016, for comparison.

It is good that there is attention to trade with African countries. Caution is advised, but the economies can use what is necessary to raise the living standards of those countries. A lot of poverty trumps as we know and the exodus to Europe is also something to get rid of in the future. If the economies improve, there will be fewer travelers. So as far as I'm concerned, not just listing the negative, but jointly tackling poverty, that must be the path to be followed.
